Pi, Data-Intensive Applications and OpenCode
TL;DR
- Building Pi with Mario Zechner and Armin Ronacher
- Designing Data-Intensive Applications with Martin Kleppmann
- Building OpenCode with Dax Raad
Building Pi
I really liked this episode from the Pragmatic Engineer Podcast. Mario’s approach to building a simple, stable and reliable coding agent is a very welcome breath of fresh air in the overhyped AI coding tools landscape.
Designing Data-Intensive Applications
Martin Kleppmann’s book Designing Data-Intensive Applications is considered a classic in software development literature. I personally own a copy and am currently reading through it. While it was great to hear that Martin has published the second edition of the book, his thoughts regarding local-first software really caught my interest. If you want to find out more about the local-first concept, check out Cult Repo’s mini documentation:
Building OpenCode
A great look behind the scenes of developing OpenCode, combined with a realistic take on using AI for software development.
